Meet Jesus our Friend
Jesus is often referred to as our Savior, Redeemer, and Lord, but he is also our friend. He is always there for us, listening to our prayers, and offering us comfort and guidance.
John 15:15 says, "I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."
In this verse, Jesus is telling his disciples that they are more than just his followers; they are his friends. He shares with them everything he has learned from God the Father, and he trusts them with his message.
Jesus is the friend who sticks closer than a brother. He is always there for us, even when others may let us down. He offers us love, support, and forgiveness, no matter what we have done.
In John 11:35-36, we see Jesus' friendship with Lazarus. When Lazarus dies, Jesus weeps for him and then raises him from the dead. This is not the act of a distant savior, but of a friend who deeply cares about his loved ones.
Finally, in James 2:23, we read about Abraham, who was called a friend of God. Abraham's faith and obedience to God made him a friend of God, just as our faith and obedience to Jesus make us friends of Jesus.
In conclusion, Jesus is not just our savior, but also our friend. He offers us love, support, and guidance, and he sticks closer to us than a brother. Let us cherish this friendship and strive to be faithful and obedient to our friend Jesus.
