2.1 Jesus Proclaimed Good News and Healed Every Disease

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
Matthew 9:35, NIV

In one sentence we find out so much about Jesus’ time on earth. Jesus went. Jesus proclaimed. Jesus healed. Have you ever realized that Jesus could have stayed in one place and let everybody come search for him? But he did not. He went through “ALL” the towns and villages. He sought people out.

Jesus proclaimed the good news! Jesus did not just seek for people to make acquaintances.  He sought people out to let them know the good news that they could be reconciled to God.

And Jesus healed. He healed EVERY disease and sickness.  He was unwilling to simply go and preach and leave physical needs unmet. Instead, he ministered to the physical needs of those he encountered.

How Jesus cares for every person! He did not go to “select” towns or just heal “special” people. He did not keep the good news a secret, available to only a few. This is the heart of our Savior and this must be our heart too. Today, be empowered to go, to proclaim, and to bring healing. When you do, you will be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Prayer:  Father, I want to be like Jesus. Help me to love people like Jesus does. Help me to carry the good news with me and open my eyes to see the needs around me. I want to bring you honor today in all I do and say. Amen.

Commitment:  Today I am willing and ready to carry the good news with me.
